Braillenote Users - Accessible RPG and other Games

Category: Accessible Games

Hey, all.
You've probably seen me badgering on about this on other topics, but whatever. Any braillenote users, listen up.
I know when you're using the device, there aren't many accessible games - besides the ones already mentioned on other topics. We can't use flash or look at maps, which is a bit of a down. List of games for you, well, not many:
Twilight Heroes: There are no images as far as I know. You pick your classes, you can fight and get different reputations.
Dragons of Myth, Legend of the Green Dragon Adaptation: basically one of my homes. A bit hard to get around the first time. This one's an RPG, and the players are really friendly. No posts above PG-13, as listed in the Rules.
A website where you can find more is www. whitestick. co. uk (remove spaces). Hope that helped, and I also hope you didn't get bored.

You can also play Kingdom of Loathing, Atorian, Space Odyssey, and Urban Dead on the BrailleNote. All four are good games, though I think Atorian is dying or has died.

Oh, I love Kingdom of Loathing - it's brilliant. Urban Dead's tricky, I swear, because there's a map?

Post 4 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 27-Dec-2013 10:26:04

Yeah, Urban Dead is pretty tricky. I gave up on it a while back. Space Odyssey has a map, but it isn't too bad.

Monster Breeder is also playable, though navigation is tricky (you can't constructively get from point a to point b, so just clicking on random tiles, may help, but it's difficult in terms of navigation)

I thought that Kingdom of Loathing was a bit wonky with its interface, but all in all I found it a pleasant experience.

Another one is 1000A.D. I used to play that on the PacMate years ago, found it on AudioGames.

I don't think that one's accessible. MonBre's good, accept when you get to the exploring out-of-town. Got lost, and gave up.
There's another one called Furry Paws, which is easy to get around.

Puppet Nightmares is similar to Mon Bre, but i'm not sure if it's accessible on the BrailleNote. I was an avid MonBre player, but gave up as well, due to exploring.

Puppet Nightmares' an over 18, I think... Not sure though.

You do. It says it right in the registration field. As far as the game being playable, it looks a little chincy, as JavaScript must be turned on.

What's the Furry Paws game? Same question asked for Twilight Heros.

Post 13 by GreyWaves (Zone BBS Addict) on Monday, 24-Mar-2014 2:53:10

Furry Paws is a dog simulation game, and Twilight Heroes is a game with the setting of night, where you fight around your local area. Sorry, I'm rubbish at explaining.

It's ok. :)

I checked out
www.whitesticks.co.uk
or whatever it was. I love that site now. I added it to my favorites and registered for writing.

Wow, Whitestick is a good site, but it is very old. Out of the two, I've played Twilight Heroes.

Post 16 by GreyWaves (Zone BBS Addict) on Monday, 24-Mar-2014 12:45:29

I love Whitestick though it's NEVER updated.
Twilight Heroes was good but I gave up. Furry Paws... I liked it, but like TH, I gave up. When I find more I'll note them down here, but if anyone's heard of Legend of the Green Dragon, it's a massive host of servers - text-based RPG's like Tynastera, Xythen, the Complex, etc. Myth is part of that and, so far as I know, is brilliant for BN users (hell, the owner's blind and I'm a damn ambassador for BNs on staff so I hope it is).

Are all of these games browser based? I've had a couple of people ask me how to connect to MUDs with a braillenote, and I have no idea if there's any way for that to work.

Post 18 by TheBlindPianist (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 25-Mar-2014 14:53:16

I think there is. Not all of these are accessable. NOONE DO THE HP GAME It won't work.

Post 19 by GreyWaves (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 25-Mar-2014 15:05:28

They are all browser based, yes.
